17:30 – 18:00 | ‘Ask Me Anything’ with Commissioner Andrius Kubilius

An open conversation with European Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius, led by Rapporteur Defence Editor Alice Tidey.

As Europe moves to strengthen its defence capabilities and industrial base, the Commissioner will address the key questions shaping the sector — from Europe’s defence priorities and investment needs to industrial capacity, procurement and the role of EU-level action.

Following an initial conversation with Alice Tidey, the floor will open to the audience, giving participants the opportunity to put their questions directly to Commissioner Kubilius.

18:00 – 18:45 | Panel Discussion: The Defence Investment Race: Where Should Industry Put Its Money?

A high-level discussion on where governments need industry to invest now — and which capability gaps are creating real demand. Leaders from investment and defence institutions will explore procurement signals, access to finance, and how SMEs and start-ups can break into defence markets. The panel will also examine how industry can avoid building capacity without a clear route to market, and what Europe’s defence ecosystem needs to build today — not five years from now.

Confirmed speakers:
Anders Sjöborg, Deputy Chief Executive, European Defense Agency
Oliver Cusworth, Senior Policy Officer, EIB Security and Defence Office

More speakers to be announced soon.

From 18:45 | Networking Reception

The evening will conclude with a high-level networking reception, offering participants the opportunity to continue the conversation and connect with senior representatives from EU institutions, defence organisations, industry and the investment community.
