The rules of political communication are being rewritten. New platforms, new regulation, new messengers, and audiences that no longer arrive through the channels institutions control.
The Political Communication Summit is the first European gathering built for the people who do this work: political messaging, public affairs and institutional communications, across borders rather than inside one national bubble. Its inaugural edition brings 500+ professionals to Vienna City Hall for 76 sessions across six halls, with speakers from the European Commission, the European Parliament, national governments, parties, agencies, newsrooms and civil society.
The programme runs across four themes: the future of political messaging, the future of institutional communications, navigating political turbulence, and rebuilding trust and engagement. Sessions examine how governments detect and counter foreign information manipulation, how large language models have quietly become stakeholders in policy debates, what actually persuades on short-form video, how the EU communicates across 27 publics and 24 languages, and how a party went from fifth place to the largest in the Dutch parliament.
Alongside keynotes and panels, the Summit runs hands-on masterclasses on AI-assisted speechwriting, AI moderation for campaigns, working with content creators, and using primary data to sharpen EU communication.
The Summit opens on the evening of 6 October with the Partisan Awards Gala and an opening reception at Vienna City Hall, recognising the year's strongest campaigns and innovators.
It is held under the patronage of Bettina Emmerling, Deputy Mayor of the City of Vienna, and powered by Partisan, the team behind the Political Tech Summit. Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen opens the conference day by video message.
