Tax systems play a vital role in shaping economies and society. Major trends, including demographic change, climate risks, the adoption of artificial intelligence, and declining multilateralism are transforming economic activity and the future of tax revenues.

The European Business Tax Forum (EBTF) and The Ex’tax Project Foundation invite you to explore how tax frameworks can respond to these developments while supporting Europe’s long-term competitiveness and resilience.

The event brings together senior policy makers, business leaders, and fiscal experts for two complementary sessions.

Resilience of the Future Tax Base | 12:30-14:15 CET

The first session will feature the launch the 2026 Total Tax Contribution and Total Cost of Tax Compliance studies. Their findings will provide a starting point for discussing the implications of major economic and societal trends for Europe’s tax base, business competitiveness and public finances.

Tax & Circular Symposium | 14:30-17:30 CET

The second session will explore how tax frameworks can evolve to strengthen European competitiveness, accelerate circular innovation and investment, and support resilient supply chains.

Join us in Brussels or online.
